We all need to market what we’re doing so that people know it exists.
And we want it to *sound* great (and of course, *be* great), so people actually buy.
But what happens if you create a video that doesn’t help your marketing efforts—or worse, actually turns people OFF to what you’re doing?
What if you get on camera and are doing yourself a disservice and are being inauthentic?
Here’s my #OneTake…
on one author’s TERRIBLE video and how to turn this around:
What do you think? Let me know!
What good or bad videos have you made or come across?
Share those below (add the embed code in the comments) and let me know your thoughts.
See you next time!

I just made this for our web design home page.
No, not one take. The first three were lost to IFTTTCO (I Forgot To Turn The Camera On.)
And this is about #4 of the ones after I turned it on.
But that’s almost entirely because it’s a script, which I wanted to get right for this specific instance. I’m a big fan of video in one take (and of Video In One Take, ho ho) but this one needed something else.

I’m going to change the music and add a written call to action at the end. But how about what’s already there?
You know I’m wide open for anything I can improve.
Love the video! I believe that you’ve been doing this for a while, you know your stuff, and you have happy clients. One item I took away: you could look happier! 🙂
Not saying you looked upset, but a smile can really go a long way. Perhaps used as a way to connect: “dreamer like you” or when you talk about your dream—and definitely at the end. I would think that you want to leave people on a positive note? Or are you intimidating your prospects into hiring you 🙂
These are very subtle points, as I think overall, you’ve done a great job!
